ICC Seeks Warrants for Netanyahu and Hamas Leader Sinwar

Arrest warrants requested by The Hague for alleged war crimes

Court decision pending on Israeli PM and Hamas chief

The International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague has requested arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar. The warrants are sought for alleged war crimes committed during the 2014 Gaza conflict.

The ICC's chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, has submitted the request to the court. She alleges that Netanyahu and Sinwar bear responsibility for war crimes, including willful killing, inhumane treatment, and intentionally directing attacks against civilians.

The ICC's decision on whether to issue the warrants is pending. If granted, Netanyahu and Sinwar would be the first sitting leaders to be subject to ICC arrest warrants.
